the amazing technicolor dream...dress

i have had this insane fabric sitting around for probably 2 years now.  i had no idea what to do with it or why i even bought it.  thanks fabric.com for tempting my sometimes overly impulsive purchasing habits.

same new look pattern as the prior dress but only for the bodice.  i attempted some slight resizing [fail] and instead of sleeves i added quadruple straps.  the back is partially open [giant button and 7" zipper instead of 22"] cos apparently this summer in maine has been declared "hot as balls" pretty much daily.
with the remaining fabric [there were probably 2 yards to start with] i made a hybrid circle/fishtail skirt which i do believe turned out surprisingly well.
i guess the only issue now is... where in the hell would i ever wear this dress?  in my future career as a construction site flagger?  when i audition for clown college?  perhaps in a test for genetically inherited colorblindness?  cohosting reading rainbow?  signaling airplanes on the tarmac?  making up implausible scenarios the host of a children's show?
ever so slightly toned down with a belt and blazer..

  1. Summer picnic fun! Or if you insist on adding this to your work wardrobe, hehehe, maybe Friday casual?
