liz's laundry

the new office i'm temping at has some hvac problems.  basically the building is 100+ years old, the a/c broke, and no one in the city knows how to fix it.  thus, management had to get quotes from various companies to completely replace the system and possibly some of the distribution.  since were on the 6th floor and its been either sunny or extremely humid, the office has been 80 degrees according to my cubical neighbor's thermometer.  i thought he was exaggerating.  unfortunately no.  hence, all outfits have had a sweater for driving to work, walking from the parking garage, and then is immediately removed when i reach my desk.  pants were a poor choice as i was duped by the cloudy skies and torrential downpour.  it was still 79 indoors.

also a company-wide memo was sent out basically stating due to a/c issues, shorts would be allowed in the office as part of a super-casual initiative.  and i quote "but please be advised of blindingly pale legs due to long maine winters"

my hair-flower [part of my fro-taming attempts] was commented on as bringing a hawaiian feel to the tropical-temperatured office.  i do what i can.
