big ass cookies

i've never claimed reading comprehension is a strong suit of mine.  most recently my mom, sister, and i were trying to find a restaurant in augusta for lunch.  that is augusta, maine, mind you.  not augusta, georgia.  i googled "restaurants in augusta" and chose the midprice range.  what?  indian?  tapas?  burritos?  more burritos?  a sweetery?  i sent several links and some menus to the fam and the reply was "well those are all very nice looking but were not driving to augusta georgia.."

how is this at all relevant, you may ask.  well.... i also googled "chocolate chip cookie" since i had a hankering.  i found this link that reads very clearly best big, fat, chewy, chocolate chip cookie.  not "big ass chocolate chip cookie" like i originally thought.  but they are.  so hahh.

so you dont have to go through the pains of clicking back to the recipe:
  • 2 C flour
  • 1/2 teas baking soda
  • 1/2 teas salt
  • 3/4 C softened butter
  • 1 C brown sugar [or the brownulated/pourable type]
  • 1/2 C white sugar
  • 1 T vanilla [or a teas if you have mixed feelings about vanilla]
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 C chocolate bits
cream butter and sugar until fluffy, add eggs, vanilla, baking soda, and salt; mix well.  add flour and mix until just incorporated, add chocolate - i used andes mint chips cos i'm obsessed.

using a 1/4 cup measuring cup or a #16 cookie/muffin scoop, blop those puppers on a cookie sheet, squish em down a bit, and bake at 325 for 17 minutes.
just for size reference.. the cookies are about 5" across and i may or may not have large man hands.
