snowstorm #2

the tree in the front yard

our wimpy looking porch bushes

cool shot of the street

chewy manioc cheese puffs

no idea where i found this recipe.

mix 2 teaspoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and 2/3 C milk, bring to a boil

find jewish friend who shops for kosher ingredients

measure 2 cups potato starch in mixing bowl

stir in milk until just crumbly

whisk 1 large egg and 1 large eggwhite, mix into starch until smooth. this is where i SHOULD have added 1/2 cup parmesan cheese. but i forgot. which totally defeats the third word in the title. CHEESE. eff.

knead dough for 3-5 minutes until smooth, pinch off tablespoon sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet

bake at 350 for 20 minutes

since i forgot the cheese before, just before the cheesy puffs were done i topped them off with grated cheddar and the parmesan and baked until i had delicious cheese crispies.

out of the oven they were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. but a day later they were pretty dried out and overly chewy. after a bit of microwaving they return to edible-ness...and since i completely fucked them the first time i guess thats all i can ask for.
