look at those shiny chocolate brown doors!  after that coat dried... i repainted the door on the right.  never fear, it doesnt look that bad in real life.  remember how it took me 9 months to plaster and prime?  weeeell it only took another month to finally paint the walls and trim of the hallway outside my bathroom.

once upon a time i saw a pin for souvenir coins made into magnets.  i could swear i pinned it but a quick search yielded nothing in my boards.  whatevs.  its pretty much cake.

makeup or breakup

as a kid, i didnt play dress up with mommy's makeup.  she didnt teach me how to wear eye liner or shadow or anything like that.  she taught me things like perseverance, self respect, and how to be friendly but a hardass.. but that's beside the point.  she also has pricey hypoallergenic makeup that i cant afford.  i generally prefer revlon.  fortunately the internet has taught me all about makeup, and this one time i read a blog post by the lovely laura about makeup.

both cardigans i wore to school/work ...happened to be on days when by best friend wore the exact same color cardigan.  everyone in the office assumed we planned it, but no.  and she said her boyfriend wore the same color as well, until she made him change his shirt.  apparently they arent "that kind" of couple

snow. forever.

ok i have no idea what is going on here.  i took a picture of the snowy trees.  while it was snowing.  and somehow between downloading the pics off my camera and uploading them to picasa... IT IS SNOWING IN MY PICTURE.  idk if i accidentally added some kind of magical animation in picasa [no idea how] or the internets just knew it should be snowing in this pic.  whatevs. i'm going with it.

basement woes

so we had this polar vortex event.  maine was balls cold[er than usual] and we got over a foot [on top of another foot] of snow.  glorious.  except when i remember i have to shovel a driveway that is 3 cars wide and 2 cars long.  before work.  but anywho.  its been 40+ the past week and eeerything is flooding.  i live at the bottom of a hill, well away from the 100 year flood line at the river and the coast... but mini rivers traverse my basement pretty much every time it rains more than a drizzle.  [increase in floodage since 2 days ago not pictured]

happy holidays!!  and just in case you thought i only ever stayed home to cook for myself and terrorize my cat with house projects... i do have a job.  and friends.  and we definitely enjoy ourselves at every opportunity.  and no, i dont always look well behaved and polished in every picture.
