earlier this eve when i knelt [aka fell]
i could have sworn that i felt
an ever slight loosening in my belt
a clear plastic strip that doth svelte
i nearly could burn or glue or melt
the broken bit into a welt [on my finger..]
oh this tragic tale life hath dealt
once more into the veldt
thank god for amazon prime.

frank interlude
there once was a naughty boy kitty
he often would act out quite shitty
he hops in the chiller
he's quite the bug killer
and often inspires a bad ditty
oh dear god its hot
i wonder if there is a
toy or food nearby

food, not food, frank
an egg bagel glows
sunlit olive cream cheesey
delicioso.
spider babies burst egg sacs
and could be killed with several whacks
but spider goo is quite disturbing
and spider bits are quite perturbing
free bookshelves = future cookbook storage, toni's crafting area, domo's new secret lair, and evil cat eyes?
he will eat your soul.

frank.

there once was a psycho named frank
sometimes he did smell most rank
he often did fart
but made it an art
in what he thought was a devilish prank.

miscellany from last week

bug in a rug is a snug thug in pjs.

frank and his doppelganger
do not like mash and banger
they bat around clothes hanger
and bite often in love and anger

for a secret project i HAVE YET TO START! EFF

some news/weather outlets were accused of inciting panic in the most recent storm we had. i disagree wholeheartedly. PARALYZING BLIZZARD would neeeever incite panic. if only it were a wav file.. then the DOWNED TREES and IMPASSABLE ROADS could flash on and off like a bad neon sign. and the "low" L could swoop in from the south
not only are these snacks crispy, airy, and a little bit sweet, the happy potato is so fucking cute how could you pass one up? and of course theyre korean!

expired ramen

there once was a packet of ramen
gifted to me by a shaman
it was flavored like beef
required no teef
but it expired and garnered an "aw man!"

"artificial braised beef flavor instant sweet potato threads" who wouldnt find that scrumptious?!

chinese instructions. 2 1/2 C of nearly boiling water for undisclosed amount of time.

shelf life of artificial braised meat flavoring: 12 months

ummmm i had a packet of delicious but yet untasted mystery ramen FOR OVER TWO YEARS? needless to say, i threw it out. not that i dont trust chinese food safety standards..oh wait i dont really. k bye.

florida faunae

dead lizard on the porch.
waits for another day.

can can pelican-you can can
there once was an osprey, regal and strong
she sat in a pine tree above the first prong
her baby flew badly
and squawked oh so madly
and momma flew away on a song

heron waits upon the beach
looks for snacks within his reach
watching fisher cast his line
seagulls yelling "mine mine mine"

red squirrel looks so scrawny
coconuts not oak acorns
fluffy fur light and tawny

knock knock
who's there
a red crested woodpecker with a lame joke

florida fruit

meyer lemon why so lumpy?
meyer lemon why so grumpy?
meyer lemon why so frumpy?
ummm probably cos you grow next to a cactus
and youre actually a ponderosa lemon. oops

grapefruit hanging there
looking quite testicular
why does fruit grow paired?

kumquats are a useless fruit
not good to eat, and only cute

there once was a man named papaya
he often was named as a liar
he hopped all around
and fell on the ground
his pants were very on fire

a coconut sits on the ground, not knowing why it fell
i went and took a picture quick to bring to show and tell
i would not know to open it as its not hairy brown
and only eat the sugared type bought often by the pound
as i walked back up to the road, i heard a light door slam
a tubby woman grabbed the fruit and turned back tail and ran

i have no fucking idea what this is. fin.

harbes
after the quartet gig [2 weeks ago now?] we stopped by harbes farm for some tasty fresh cheap produce since we were already out east. still not sure if it is pronounced har-bees or harbs ..but amazing nonetheless.

waiting for some traffic, sitting on our bums
hoping for warm cider, and some autumn mums

standing in the checkout line, twiddling our thumbs
admiring the pumpkins, apples, gourds and plums

seeking out the donut tent, now holding only crumbs
driving home in weirdass light, with good food in our tums

more plants! and random closeups

herbies

some of my tomatoes with peppers in the background

beginning of my flowers

my new crop of seedlings that will soon wither and die for some unknown reason
and now for the day's random closeups: [each with a short poem]

shiny diner cheesecake
oh how i love you so
i need someone to please bake
me 4 or 5 to go

electric ricepot
brown rice boils everywhere
perfect cook each time

orange slices cut in bits
add to chicken cutlet schnitz[el]
boil sauce until its thick
serve while hot and eat up quick

only one berry is colored so sad
and out on the counter it soon does go bad
delish on ice cream or yogurt or plain
these berries are picked by bears up in maine...

death of a shoe
my beloved high heeled black sandals from target bit the dust. the sole of the right one came unglued and was flapping most of the day, but we persevered. and frankly, the shoes were 3 years old and originally $20. so i think i got my money's worth.

the shoe

the damage

a glamour shot and a haiku:
strappy black glory
blisters were a guarantee
click clack click no more

LI sunsets
probably due to the air pollution levels...the sunsets in long island are pretty spectacular.

taken at our office

taken at our office [stupid powerlines]

taken from the parking lot where my gym, ballroom dance, and future hair salon are located

taken from an abandoned parking lot off rte 112

taken from my car [side mirror] at a stop light

and lastly... an ode to the frankster:
you wait in the windows and mutter
how long ive been gone from this clutter
if you could go out
and prance all about
youd jump up and hang from the gutter
you sample real food like brown butter
and when scratched right you purr and do shudder
you act like a dog
and practically jog
all around the house cos youre a nutter
